Naveen Jain: Guide and Mentor to Entrepreneurial Youth
Naveen Jain believes in fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among the youth through mentoring and education. As part of his company’s entrepreneurship and education initiatives, he was instrumental in founding Kairos Society, a non-profit organization of college students gathered from across the country determined to pursue careers in entrepreneurship.
Ankur Jain, founder and president of Kairos, and a student at Wharton School of Business, cited that giant enterprises such as CNN and Microsoft came into conception during tough economic times. Kairos aims to reinvent the American dream and is optimistic in taking on the challenge of building socially responsible and financially successful ventures in the midst of economic hardship. It recently launched its 1st Annual Summit in New York City on April 3-4, 2009, which had successful business leaders including Intelius’ CEO and co-founder Naveen Jain, who expressed his pride in supporting an organization that has the potential to inspire and cultivate the next generation of business owners, innovators and entrepreneurs.
Naveen Jain is an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist and winner of the Albert Einstein Technology Medal. Born in India, he migrated to the US in 1979 to pursue a career in technology. He worked for Microsoft Corporation as project manager, developing software and operating systems. After seven years of productive work, he decided to take his chances by forming his own company, InfoSpace, out of his own money. Determined and passionate about his work, he led the company into becoming one of the top content providers for huge Web properties.
In 2003, Naveen Jain formed Intelius, an online information commerce company that does background checks, verification services, and employment screening for consumers and businesses. At present, Intellius has a unique customer pool of six million and is one of the fastest growing companies in North America by Deloitte & Touche. It posted a record-breaking growth of 1566.27% since 2003 and continues to lead in its field by coming up with better and more innovative products.
